  7. DESCRIPTION
  8. This software is intended to fix an issue with certain Apple Macintosh G4
  9. computers that causes some models of Mitsubishi brand display monitors to
  10. remain off after a restart or powering up after shutdown.
  11.  
  12. It is intended for use only on G4s with Mac OS 9.0.4 and Mac OS ROMs
  13. versions 4.9.1, 5.2.1 and 5.5.1. Use on other types of Macintosh computers,
  14. other OS versions or other Mac OS ROM versions should be unnecessary and is
  15. currently untested and unsupported by NEC-Mitsubishi.

  17. The following Mitsubishi brand monitors are supported by this software:

  20.      Diamond Plus 120
  21.      Diamond Plus 200
  22.      Diamond Plus 220
  23.      Diamond Plus 730
  24.      Diamond Pro 720
  25.      Diamond Plus 710s
  26.      Diamond Pro 920
  27.      Diamond Plus 91
  28.      Diamond Plus 92
  29.  
  30. Other monitor models are not affected by this issue.

  32. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  33. 1. Drop the "  Monitor Power Patch" Extension file onto your "System"
  34. folder.
  35. 2. When prompted "Put into the Extensions folder?", click OK.
  36. 3. Restart your Macintosh computer.

  39. UPDATES
  40. This software has been tested on currently available Apple Macintosh G4
  41. computers and OS  9.0.4. If you upgrade to a newer OS or Mac OS ROM
  42. version, be sure to check for any compatibility issues or updates available
  43. in the "Support" section of the NEC-Mitsubishi web site:

  46. RESTRICTIONS
  47. You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise reduce
  48. the software to a human-perceivable form. You may not modify, rent, resell
  49. for profit, distribute or create derivative works based upon the software
  50. or any part thereof.

  52. OWNERSHIP
  53. The foregoing license gives you limited rights to use the software.  You do
  54. not become the owner of, and NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display Inc.
  55. retains title to, the software, and all copies thereof.  All rights not
  56. specifically granted in this Agreement, including Federal and International
  57. Copyrights, are reserved by NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display Inc.

  60. This software, its documentation and related materials are copyrighted 2000
  61. by NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display Inc.

  63. DISCLAIMER
  64. The software and related documentation are provided "AS IS" and without
  65. warranty of any kind and NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display Inc. expressly
  66. disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including, but not
  67. limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a
  68. particular purpose. Under no circumstances shall NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics
  69. Display Inc. be liable for any incidental, special or consequential damages
  70. that result from the use or inability to use the software or related

  75. for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of
  76. this Agreement, or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, that provision of
  77. the Agreement shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to
  78. effect the intent of the parties, and the remainder of this Agreement shall
  79. continue in full force and effect.

  81. The software and documentation are provided with RESTRICTED RIGHTS. Use,
  82. duplication, or disclosure by the Government is subject to restrictions as
  83. set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of The Rights in Technical Data and
